SEND Teacher – Inspire Pupils with Additional Needs in Wirral Schools

Your Role as a SEND Teacher

• Plan and deliver personalised lessons for pupils with diverse learning needs

• Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other SEND profiles

• Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual targets

• Collaborate with SENCOs, families, and external professionals to develop and review IEPs

• Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional and social development

• Lead and guide Teaching Assistants and Learning Support staff

• Uphold SEND legislation and school policies to ensure high standards of care and education

• Uphold safeguarding responsibilities by promoting the welfare of children and young people, and ensuring all actions align with school policies on child protection and safety.

 

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

• Degree or PGCE in Primary, Secondary, or Special Education

• Experience in SEND settings is beneficial but not essential

• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching and behaviour management

• Excellent communication, planning, and classroom leadership skills

• Compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to teaching

• Additional training in safeguarding, Team Teach, or first aid is a bonus

Location:

Roles available in Wirral and surrounding areas including Wallasey, Birkenhead, Bebington, Pensby and West Kirby

All successful applicants will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check as part of our safeguarding procedures.
