If you love helping children explore, discover and develop through play‑based learning — and you’re committed to giving every child the strongest start possible — this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
We have flexible supply roles, long‑term EYFS placements and full‑time opportunities available in welcoming Wirral schools.
⭐ Your Role as an Early Years Practitioner in Wirral
As part of an EYFS team, you’ll help create a safe, exciting and stimulating environment where young learners can flourish. Your responsibilities may include:
Supporting children aged 2–5 through play‑based and structured learning
Encouraging language development, communication and early social skills
Assisting with early phonics, early maths, fine‑motor and gross‑motor activities
Helping children develop independence, confidence and secure routines
Setting up indoor and outdoor learning environments to promote exploration
Providing 1:1 or small‑group support for children who need additional guidance
Observing and recording progress to assist teachers with assessment
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Following safeguarding procedures and supporting the wider EYFS team
This role is ideal for someone with a warm, patient approach who loves working with young children and contributing to their development every day.
⭐ What We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
Experience working with children aged 0–5 (school, nursery or childcare settings welcome)
A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification
A passion for early childhood development and learning through play
A nurturing, reliable and proactive approach
Confidence supporting children with varying needs and abilities
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
If you come from nursery work, preschool settings, childcare, playwork or similar backgrounds, your skills will transfer well into our Wirral primary schools.
⭐ Why Work with TalentBoard on the Wirral?
We support EYFS teams across Wallasey, Birkenhead, Moreton, Hoylake, Upton, Bebington, Prenton and surrounding areas.
You’ll benefit from:

Opportunities in both Nursery and Reception classes
Free SEND & EYFS‑focused CPD to help develop your skills
