What You’ll Be Doing
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, your focus will be on helping pupils overcome barriers to learning by providing consistent, tailored support throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting individual pupils with additional needs on a 1:1 basis
Assisting in small group interventions to reinforce learning
Helping implement strategies set out in EHCPs and behaviour plans
Working collaboratively with teachers to modify activities and resources
Encouraging engagement, independence, and confidence in the classroom
Supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
Promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive learning atmosphere
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for individuals who are committed to supporting children with SEND and who can bring energy and adaptability into the classroom.
You may have experience in:
SEND Teaching Assistant or classroom-based roles
Behaviour support or SEMH interventions
Youth work, residential care, or support work
Psychology, counselling, or mental health settings
Volunteering with children or vulnerable individuals
Transferable skills are highly valued — attitude and commitment are just as important as experience.

Ability to build trust with pupils who may need additional reassurance
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Flexible and dependable with a proactive mindset
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
