Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are recruiting Learning Support Assistants / Teaching Assistants to work across a range of primary, secondary and specialist schools in Wirral.

The Role
As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a variety of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), and speech & communication difficulties.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver 1:1 support and assist with small group learning
Support pupils in line with EHCPs (Education, Health & Care Plans) and individual learning strategies
Work alongside teachers to adapt lessons and ensure inclusive classroom participation
Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social development
Build strong working relationships with pupils, teachers, and SENCO staff
Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold pupil welfare at all times
About You

Teaching Assistants / Learning Support Assistants
SEND or SEMH support roles
Care work, youth work, or support work
Psychology, mentoring, or mental health support
Relevant voluntary or community experience
Essential Qualities
A genuine interest in SEND education and inclusive learning
Patience, empathy, and resilience
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A proactive and reliable approach
A valid Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one) is required.
