Teaching Assistant – Wallasey, Wirral

Your day-to-day responsibilities

• Assisting teachers with the delivery of creative, engaging lessons across different subjects.
• Supporting pupils during class activities, helping them stay motivated, focused and confident.
• Providing 1:1 or small-group support to help reinforce learning and build key skills.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and contributing to a calm, inclusive classroom environment.
• Preparing learning materials, helping with classroom organisation and supporting daily routines.
• Promoting the inclusion of all pupils, including those who may need additional guidance.
• Following safeguarding procedures to ensure every child feels safe, supported and valued.

Who we’re looking for

• Experience working with children or young people is an advantage — though we also welcome individuals from care, youth work, coaching, mentoring or support backgrounds.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• A patient, enthusiastic and proactive attitude towards learning support.
• Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently when needed.
• A genuine interest in education and supporting children’s personal and academic development.
• An Enhanced DBS is required, or applicants must be willing to apply for one.
