Join TalentBoard as a motivated Teaching Assistant supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in both mainstream and specialist SEND schools across the Wirral.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons tailored to individual needs.

  • Assist pupils with SEND to ensure full participation and progress in classroom activities.

  • Promote positive behaviour and create a nurturing learning environment.

  • Engage students in age-appropriate developmental activities.

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to monitor and enhance pupil progress.

  • Prepare learning materials and maintain a safe, structured classroom.

  • Provide personal care support when required, with dignity and sensitivity.

  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities by promoting the welfare of children and young people, and ensuring all actions align with school policies on child protection and safety.

 

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or adults with SEND is desirable.

  • We also welcome applicants from non-educational backgrounds with relevant experience (e.g. support workers, carers, youth mentors).

  • Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting children’s development.

  • Knowledge of SEND strategies and inclusive education practices is a plus.

  • Empathetic, patient, and proactive team player.
