If you're enthusiastic about Early Years education and committed to helping young children thrive in a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Role
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital part in supporting children aged 2–5 within a busy Early Years setting. Your work will contribute directly to their early development, wellbeing, and school readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting delivery of engaging Early Years learning activities.
- Assisting with observations, learning journals, and progress tracking.
- Working closely with the class teacher to implement Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) plans.
- Building strong, positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
- Promoting language development, social skills, and emotional wellbeing.
- Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Helping manage routines such as group time, outdoor learning, and continuous provision.
- Upholding behaviour expectations in line with school policies.
- Following safeguarding procedures and promoting the welfare of children at all times.
What We’re Looking For
- A minimum of Level 1 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or an equivalent course (Level 2 or Level 3 desirable).
- Understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- A warm, patient, and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to individual needs and support inclusive learning.
- Experience in a school, nursery, or childcare setting is beneficial but not essential.
- First Aid or safeguarding training is advantageous.
All applicants must hold — or be willing to obtain — a valid Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, in line with safeguarding requirements.
Why Join TalentBoard?
- Long-term, rewarding placement in a supportive primary school.
- Competitive pay rates based on experience and qualifications.
- Ongoing support from our friendly local team.
- Opportunities for professional development within Early Years education.
