What You’ll Be Doing as an SEN TA in Chester
You’ll be supporting pupils with a wide mix of needs, which may include:
Autism and social communication differences
Learning delay or global developmental delay
SEMH (social, emotional & mental health) needs
Sensory processing differences
Limited, delayed or non-verbal communication
Physical or mobility needs requiring adapted support
Your typical day could involve:
Providing tailored 1:1 support guided by the pupil’s EHCP
Assisting small groups with structured learning activities
Using visual aids, assistive communication tools and supportive teaching strategies
Helping pupils manage emotions through calm, nurturing approaches
Encouraging engagement in lessons, routines and social interactions
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and pastoral leads
Creating a predictable, safe and positive learning environment
This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a genuine impact and enjoys supporting young people who rely on strong, trusting relationships.

Support roles with children or adults with additional needs

Ready to learn and develop specialist SEN knowledge

Willing to complete an Enhanced DBS if required
