What you’ll be doing
- Supporting teachers with engaging, inclusive classroom activities across different subjects.
- Encouraging pupils’ confidence and participation, helping them stay focused and motivated.
- Providing 1:1 support or small-group intervention to reinforce learning and build essential skills.
- Using positive behaviour strategies to help create a calm, supportive learning environment.
- Assisting with the organisation of classroom resources, displays and day-to-day routines.
- Promoting the inclusion of all pupils, including those needing additional academic or emotional support.
- Ensuring safeguarding standards are upheld and putting pupil wellbeing at the centre of everything you do.
What we’re looking for
- Experience supporting children or young people is beneficial — but we also welcome candidates from care, youth work, coaching, mentoring or support-based roles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with pupils and staff.
- A friendly, patient and proactive approach to learning support.
- Ability to work well as part of a team while showing initiative when needed.
- A genuine interest in education and helping children thrive academically and socially.
- An Enhanced DBS is required (or willingness to obtain one).
