Job Overview
TalentBoard require qualified teachers to join our team supporting specialist SEND settings and/or SEND units within mainstream schools, in the local area. The successful applicant will hold Qualified Teacher Status, be highly motivated and be passionate about working within SEND education. Experience of working within a SEND setting is an advantage, however, if you have the drive and desire to move into this field then we would be keen to speak with you.
Duties
Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet individual needs.
Assess and monitor progress, adapting strategies as required.
Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals.
Support students’ emotional and social development.
Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
Ensure compliance with SEND legislation and school policies.
Provide guidance to support staff working with SEND pupils.
Uphold safeguarding responsibilities by promoting the welfare of children and young people, and ensuring all actions align with school policies on child protection and safety.
Qualifications
A degree or pgce in Primary, Secondary or SEND Education or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and special education practices is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including proficiency in proofreading.
Ability to create inclusive lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles.
A genuine passion for nurturing children's growth and development.
Certification in first aid or child safety is an advantage.
All successful applicants will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check as part of our safeguarding procedures.
