About the Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of needs, including SEND, SEMH, autism, and learning difficulties. Day-to-day responsibilities may include:

• Providing 1:1 support

• Working with small groups

• Assisting with classroom activities and lesson engagement

 

Key Responsibilities

Classroom & Learning Support

• Assist the class teacher with learning activities and lesson delivery

• Help pupils stay focused, engaged and motivated

• Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment

SEND & Pupil Support

• Provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs

• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional development

• Adapt activities to meet individual learning needs

Safeguarding & Pupil Welfare

• Follow all school safeguarding policies

• Report concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries

 

All successful applicants must have an Enhanced DBS Check or be willing to obtain one.

• Coaching or Mentoring

• Social Care

• Volunteering with children

• Personal experience supporting SEND

TA qualifications are desirable but not essential.
