Job Overview
TalentBoard are seeking a qualified Science Teacher to join our team supporting schools across the Wirral. To apply for this role you will need to have Qualified Teacher Status, be highly motivated and professional and open to working in different settings (although long-term opportunities in individual schools are also likely to become available). The successful applicant will have a sound understanding of the curriculum, excellent classroom management skills and the drive to ensure lessons are well prepared and engaging.
Duties
Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the curriculum.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
Manage classroom behaviour to create a positive learning environment.
Support student wellbeing, acting as a form tutor and safeguarding lead when required.
Collaborate with colleagues and communicate with parents/carers to support student success.
Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and professional development.
Uphold safeguarding responsibilities by promoting the welfare of children and young people, and ensuring all actions align with school policies on child protection and safety.
Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status
A degree in Science or a related field is essential;
Proven experience in teaching science at the secondary level is advantageous.
Strong skills in proofreading and effective communication are required.
Familiarity with special education practices is beneficial for supporting diverse learners.
Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively while fostering an inclusive environment.
Knowledge of Maths as it relates to scientific concepts is desirable.
Experience in conducting scientific research or laboratory work is an asset.
All successful applicants will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check as part of our safeguarding procedures.
