SEND Teacher – Inspire Pupils with Additional Needs in Wirral Schools

Your Role as a SEND Teacher

• Plan and deliver personalised lessons for pupils with diverse learning needs.
• Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other SEND profiles.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual targets.
• Collaborate with SENCOs, families, and external professionals to develop and review IEPs.
• Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional and social development.
• Lead and guide Teaching Assistants and Learning Support staff.
• Uphold SEND legislation, safeguarding responsibilities, and school policies to ensure high standards of care and education.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
• Degree or PGCE in Primary, Secondary, or Special Education.
• Experience in SEND settings is beneficial but not essential.
• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching and behaviour management.
• Excellent communication, planning, and classroom leadership skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to teaching.
• Additional training in safeguarding, Team Teach, or first aid is a bonus.
