These flexible supply roles offer part‑time and full‑time opportunities, with short‑term and long‑term placements available depending on your preference.
If you’re passionate about supporting children with additional needs — or have transferable skills from care, support or youth work — we’d love to hear from you.
Your Role
As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant in Chester, you will:
Support teachers in delivering tailored lessons for pupils with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, social‑emotional needs and learning difficulties.
Provide calm, structured 1:1 and small‑group support to help pupils engage, participate and progress.
Create a safe, inclusive environment where every child feels supported and valued.
Assist with personal care when required, maintaining dignity and comfort at all times.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and parents to support individual learning plans.
Help prepare resources and maintain a well‑organised classroom that supports learning and independence.
Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures with consistency and professionalism.
What We’re Looking For
We’d love to speak with you if you have:
Experience working with children or young people, either in education, care, support work, youth work or similar settings.
Understanding of SEND strategies, communication methods or behaviour support (desirable but not essential).
Excellent communication skills, patience and emotional resilience.
The ability to work as part of a supportive team and use your initiative when needed.
A genuine commitment to helping children with additional needs achieve their potential.
All applicants must hold an Enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one.
Why Join TalentBoard?
Supporting children with SEND is incredibly rewarding, and this role offers fantastic experience for anyone considering future work in education, psychology, SEN support or therapeutic roles.
