What you’ll be doing as a Teaching Assistant

As a TA on the Wirral, your role may include:

• Supporting teachers with engaging and inclusive lessons across a variety of age groups
• Encouraging pupils to participate, stay focused and grow in confidence
• Providing 1:1 or small‑group support to help pupils make academic, social and emotional progress
• Using positive behaviour strategies to keep the classroom calm and supportive
• Helping prepare classroom resources, organise learning spaces and maintain displays
• Supporting children with additional needs to ensure they feel included and able to learn at their own pace
• Following safeguarding procedures and prioritising pupil wellbeing at all times

Who we’re looking for

You don’t need previous school experience to apply. We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds, including:

• Care or support environments
• Youth work or mentoring
• Sports coaching
• Health and social care
• Customer‑facing and community roles

We’re looking for individuals who can demonstrate:

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• Patience, resilience and a calm, encouraging approach
• Confidence to use initiative while still working well as part of a team
• A genuine passion for helping children learn and succeed
• An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
