We’re recruiting Learning Support Workers to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across mainstream and specialist schools in Ellesmere Port.
This is a rewarding role where you’ll help children and young people with Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and behaviour that challenges to access education in a safe, inclusive environment.
About the Role
Whether you have experience in education, care, youth work, coaching, or hold a relevant qualification such as psychology or childcare, this position offers a meaningful way to impact young lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to pupils with SEND
- Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Support pupils in developing confidence, independence, and social skills
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Help manage transitions and classroom routines for pupils with additional needs
- Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies are followed at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting individuals with SEND in educational, care, or community settings
- A relevant qualification (e.g., psychology, childcare, education) is desirable but not essential
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting young people
- A genuine interest in inclusive education and child development
