Job Summary

 

 

TalentBoard is seeking Cover Supervisors to join our team, supporting schools in Wrexham and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping students engaged and focused during lessons in the absence of their teachers. We are looking for individuals with experience leading groups, preferably with a background in working with young people, who are confident in presenting information. Ideally, you will also hold a degree.

 

This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to mentor and guide students effectively.

 

 

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the teacher’s absence, ensuring lesson plans are followed.

• Foster an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.

• Mentor and guide students to enhance their learning experiences.

• Manage classroom behaviour and promote positive interactions.

• Provide tutoring to individuals or small groups as needed.

• Communicate effectively with students and staff about progress and concerns.

• Inspire creativity and improve literacy through creative writing activities.

• Uphold safeguarding responsibilities by promoting the welfare of children and young people, and ensuring all actions align with school policies on child protection and safety.

 

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is beneficial.

• Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with students and staff alike.

• Educated to Degree Level

All applicants must hold (or be willing to obtain) a valid Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, in line with safeguarding requirements.
