About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of needs, including SEND and SEMH, helping them engage in learning and thrive in the classroom. Roles may include:

• 1:1 support
• Small group interventions
• General classroom assistance

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant, your daily duties may include:

Classroom Support

• Supporting the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery
• Assisting pupils to stay engaged and focused during learning activities
• Helping to create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment

Pupil Support

• Providing tailored support to pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional needs
• Working 1:1 or with small groups to reinforce learning
• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

Safeguarding & Welfare

• Promoting the safety and welfare of all pupils at all times
• Following school safeguarding policies and procedures
• Reporting any concerns promptly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
• Maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality

Additional Responsibilities

• Assisting with classroom organisation and resources
• Supporting pupils during breaktimes, lunchtimes or transitions where required
• Communicating effectively with teachers, staff and parents where appropriate

Please note: All successful applicants must have an Enhanced DBS Check, or be willing to undergo one prior to starting.
