TalentBoard is seeking Teaching Assistants, passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? We require a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to work across both mainstream and specialist SEND settings in Ellesmere Port and nearby communities.

Whether you have classroom experience or come from a background in care, support work, or personal experience with SEND, we’d love to hear from you.

 

 

What You’ll Be Doing

• Partner with teachers to deliver creative, inclusive lessons tailored to individual needs.

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils with SEND, helping them thrive academically and socially.

• Encourage positive behaviour and contribute to a nurturing classroom environment.

• Engage young learners in fun, developmental activities.

• Work closely with families, educators, and support staff to ensure consistent progress.

• Assist in preparing learning materials and maintaining an organised, welcoming classroom.

• Support with personal care tasks when necessary, always respecting the dignity of each child.

• Uphold safeguarding responsibilities by promoting the welfare of children and young people, and ensuring all actions align with school policies on child protection and safety.

 

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children or supporting individuals with SEND (including adults) is highly valued.

• Familiarity with inclusive education strategies is a plus.

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

• A genuine enthusiasm for helping children grow and succeed.

• Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude.
