Key Responsibilities:

• Support teachers in delivering inclusive, autism-friendly lessons tailored to individual learning profiles.
• Help pupils with autism engage in classroom activities, build confidence, and make academic progress.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a calm, structured learning environment.
• Lead and assist in sensory, social, and developmental activities suited to pupils’ needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to monitor and support pupil progress.
• Prepare learning materials and maintain a safe, organised classroom.
• Provide personal care support when required, always with dignity and sensitivity.
• Uphold safeguarding responsibilities, ensuring the welfare of children and compliance with school policies on child protection.
• Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, in line with safeguarding requirements.

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with children or adults with autism or SEND is desirable.
• We welcome applicants from non-educational backgrounds such as support work, care, youth mentoring, or coaching.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting neurodiverse children.
• Understanding of autism strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, or sensory integration is a plus.
• Empathetic, patient, and proactive team player.
