Job Summary
TalentBoard is looking for enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support schools across Liverpool and nearby areas. In this role, you will ensure students remain engaged and focused during lessons in the absence of their regular teachers.
We are seeking confident individuals with experience leading groups, ideally with a background in working with young people. A degree and strong presentation skills are highly desirable.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor and guide students effectively, fostering a positive and productive learning environment.
Responsibilities
Supervise classes in the teacher’s absence, ensuring lesson plans are followed.
Foster an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
Mentor and guide students to enhance their learning experiences.
Manage classroom behaviour and promote positive interactions.
Provide tutoring to individuals or small groups as needed.
Communicate effectively with students and staff about progress and concerns.
Inspire creativity and improve literacy through creative writing activities.
Uphold safeguarding responsibilities by promoting the welfare of children and young people, and ensuring all actions align with school policies on child protection and safety.
Qualifications
Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is beneficial.
Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with students and staff alike.
Educated to Degree Level
All applicants must hold (or be willing to obtain) a valid Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, in line with safeguarding requirements.
